A Year in Real Estate: What I’ve Learned So Far
When I first got my real estate license, I didn’t set out to become a top producer or chase big numbers. I simply wanted to help people make good decisions about one of the most important parts of their lives — their home. I planned to work part‑time, stay consistent, and serve my clients well.
A year later, I’ve had the privilege of helping five families buy or sell a home, and I recently crossed over $1,000,000 in closed volume. According to production data from the National Association of REALTORS®, that places me somewhere in the top 10–15% of part‑time agents nationwide. I’m grateful for that milestone, but even more grateful for the people behind it.
Because the truth is, real estate isn’t about numbers. It’s about trust.
It’s about the family who needed more space. It’s about the first‑time buyer who wasn’t sure where to start. It’s about the seller who needed someone to guide them through a stressful transition. It’s about the conversations, the late‑night questions, the problem‑solving, and the moments where someone says, “Thanks — I couldn’t have done this without you.”
Those are the parts of this job that matter most to me.
Working part‑time in real estate while also serving in law enforcement and EMS has taught me the value of communication, reliability, and showing up when people need you. I bring those same principles into every transaction, whether it’s a starter home, an investment property, or a family’s forever home.
As I move into my second year, my goal isn’t to chase bigger numbers — it’s to continue earning the trust of the people who choose to work with me. If I can help a few more families feel confident, supported, and informed throughout their real estate journey, then I’ll consider it a successful year.
If you or someone you know is thinking about buying or selling, I’d be honored to be part of the process. Even if you just have questions, I’m always here to help.
Thanks for being part of this journey
